Medora, ND 58645
This scenic tract is located about 13 miles south of the historic cow town of Medora, North Dakota.
It is about 10 miles from Bully Pulpit, one of the nations top rated golf courses. It sits at the heart of the rugged ND Badlands and is bordered on the west by the Little Missouri River. Theodore Roosevelt's Maltese Cross Ranch would be only a mile to the North.
The topography varies from flat river bottom with large Cottonwood trees to high clay buttes with Cedar and Ash trees. The view up and down the river from the higher elevation is spectacular, and the sunsets are one of a kind.
The tract is near an estimated 150,000 acres of Forest Service land, so the riding, hunting and hiking is the best. The area is habitat to white tail deer, mule deer, wild turkeys, pheasants, coyotes, bighorn sheep, antelope and an occasional mountain lion. The river is navigable by canoe and small boat.
Water wells are about 200' deep and offer a good quantity and quality. The zoning is agricultural and would permit horses, cattle or buffalo. The taxes will be about 50 cents to $1.00 per acre. The land is accessed by Plumley Draw Road, which is an all season scoria topped road. Billings County maintains this road all year.
Medora is a small tourist town with lots of social and cultural activity. Dickinson is an hour away and offers clinics, a hospital, churches, grocery stores, Wal-Mart and movie theaters. Dickinson's population is about 18,000. Dickinson has an airport with commercial flights daily. $480,000.00
